The Memory care doors has a total of 3 EXIT signs above each of the three doors to identify the doors as exit doors. Each door has a posted evacuation sign. Monthly fire drills are conducted and community staff have been trained in Emergency preparedness. Decals on the Memory Care doors will prevent the Memory Care residents from exit seeking on the Memory Care unit.

The goal of the Memory Care area is to provide a safe and home like environment to residents who either have an Alzheimer's or Dementia diagnosis. These residents enjoy a structured day that encompasses various programming activities. This population of resident has exit seeking tendencies and the door decals are needed to assist in the redirection of the resident, reducing the exit seeking behavior, resulting in resident safety.
