Conditions: Panic hardware has been removed from the 10 sets of double-doors leading from the  auditorium to the U-shaped lobby/corridor surrounding 3 sides of the auditorium.  Removal  of the hardware results in loss of latching for the doors, which are 45-minute rated fire doors as required per Official Regulation #7 for the original 1976 construction of the building.  Fire  doors are required to be positive latching.  The GAR requires maintenance of existing  features required by the building's code of record.  
Cordier Hall is an auditorium with seating for approximately 1,175.

Facts: 1.  The doors are not equipped with any additional locking devices.  Consequently, there is no violation of egress requirements due to lack of panic hardware on the doors.  The doors  function effectively as push/pull.
2.  The doors are equipped with closers, maintaining the required self-closing function of the  fire doors.
3.  There are no other spaces of any significance 
DEMONSTRATION OF UNDUE HARDSHIP OR HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT STRUCTURE:
Imposition of the rule would result in an undue hardship (unusual difficulty)  because of physical limitations of the construction site or its utility services.
