Facts: |
|
The canopy structures are meant to serve as protection from the sun during the summer when the public pool is open. When the pool is closed for the season, the fabric will be removed. Since fabric will be removed before winter, the fabric structures will not accumulate snow. Determining the snow load capabilities of fabric is difficult to calculate. There are many factors that can vary from fabric piece to fabric piece that will not remain consistent through the seasons and make calculations difficult. Some varying factors that would affect snow load calculations are the tension on the fabric when installed each season, the weave of the fabric, and imperfections in the fabric due to the manufacturing process or weathering of the product. The fabric is not meant to serve as a stiffener to the support framing structure. Also, the shade manufacture does not provide snow calculations so a third party would need to be brought in for analysis. The cost and time associated with determining snow load for a structure that would be removed before snow occurs would exceed the cost of the structures themselves.
