Conditions: Standpipe hose connections for fire department use will be located as indicated on the  attached floor plans in lieu of 'in' the open exit access stairway located in the center of the  building.  Code stipulates that standpipe hose connections are required 'in' every required  stairway.
The 5-story office building will include a 1st floor dining/conference facility and a fitness  area. The building occupancy classifications will be B Occupancy on the upper floors and a portion of the 1st floor. The 1st floor will include separated A-3 and A-2 Occupancy areas.  The upper floor office areas are anticipated to include one or more A-3 Occupancy  accessory
meeting/training rooms (less than 10% per floor).

Facts: 1.  The proposed standpipe location is proposed in order to comply with the 200-ft hose  reach limit required per Sec. 905.4, Item 6, IBC.
2.  Additional standpipe outlets will be provided at each intermediate level landing of the two (2)  stairs enclosed with 2-hour construction, as required.
3.  The building will be protected throughout with an automatic sprinkler system per NFPA 13.
