Conditions:

A fire hydrant connected to a water supply is not provided within 400 feet of the proposed 5,513 sq ft Narthex addition to the existing church worship facility.

The project also includes renovation of the existing worship space. The building will be classified as A-3 Occupancy and Type VA Construction.

Facts:

1.   The building will be provided with a monitored fire alarm system.
2.   Smoke detection will be provided throughout the addition, and in the existing mechanical rooms, storage room, and sacristy.  The detectors will be connected to the fire alarm system, providing a method of automatic alarm in the event of fire.
3. A total of five (5) exits will be provided from the existing worship space - there are three (3) existing.
4. The same variance was granted for the adjacent Fellowship Hall in 2013 (13-04-30a).  A similar variance was granted for Eastside Hispanic SDA Church in May, 2017 (17-05-56).   Other similar variances for buildings other than churches have been approved in Indianapolis, including 14-01-40a, 14-12-46, 15-10-18, 16-10-16, and 16-12-49.
