Conditions: An automatic sprinkler system will not provided in the eight (8) new seasonal camp cabin  structures. Code requires all R Occupancies to be sprinklered. 

The cabins are classified as R-1 Occupancy, and Type VB Construction.  The cabins will be approximately 840 sq ft in area each, maximum occupancy of 16 per cabin.  The cabins will  be used seasonally, April through October. 
DEMONSTRATION THAT PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, AND WELFARE ARE PROTECTED:

2= Applicant will undertake alternative actions in lieu of compliance with the rule to  ensure that granting of the variance will not be adverse to public health, safety, or  welfare.  Explain why alternative actions would be adequate (be specific).
Facts: 1.   The cabins will each have two (2) exits directly to the exterior with exit signs.
2.    Smoke alarms will be provided throughout each cabin, providing a local alarm.
3.   The maximum exit access travel distance for each cabin will be approximately 35 feet -  code permits 200 feet.
4.   The cabins will not be used for cooking of any kind.  The cabins will have no plumbing.
5.   This variance has been granted for similar camp cabin structures, including: 09¿06-33 -  Camp Lutherwood Cabins, 11-03-15 - Camp Red Cedar Cabins, 10-05-35 - Camp Lakeview  Cabins, 12-06-25 -Highland Lakes Baptist Camp New Cabin, 13-04-48(a) - Deam Lake SRA- Campground Cabins, 13-04-49(a) - Starve Hollow SRA Campground Cabins, 13-06-46 -  Greene-Sullivan State Forest Campground Cabins, 16-04-01(b) - Campground Cabins at  Starve Hollow SRA, 17-06-62 - Camp Krietenstein Cabin, and 17-09-59 - Camp Red Cedar  Cabins, 17-10-44 - Deam Lakes Campground Cabins.
