Conditions: 1 hour fire partitions will not be provided in the corridors. Corridors in non-sprinklered B  Occupancies that serve an occupant load of more than 30 are required to be provided with at least 1 hour fire partitions.

Facts: 1. A manual fire alarm system with corridor smoke detection will be provided (Not required by  code)
2. NFPA 101 permits corridors within a single tenant to be of non-rated construction.
3. This same variance has been granted in the past on numerous projects including 16-07- 11, 17-03-13 and 17-05-15.

Facts: Hardship would include the requirement to separate the nurse stations from the corridors.  The design and operation of the building is to have the nurse stations open to the corridors.  Also the cost of providing a 1 hour fire partition and all related door/windows in the fire rated  construction.
