COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This two day course expands on what was learned in the basic level of disaster response. Students will train in the areas of agility, obedience, alert work, and directional training. Students will also have the opportunity to practice their skills on rubble piles.

PREREQUISITES:
* K9230-Basic Disaster Search Techniques for K-9s
* CPR & First Aid
American Red Cross
* Obedience & Agility (or equivalent)
* One of the following courses:
1. AWR-111or AWR-111-W Basic EMS Concepts for CBRNE Incidents
2. AWR 160-W WMD/Terrorism Awareness for Emergency First Responders
3. AWR-160 or AWR-160-W WMD/Terrorism Awareness for Emergency First Responders

* PPE for Rubble Search ¿ Handler must wear helmet, gloves, long pants/long sleeves, and safety toe/steel shank boots. Knee Pads are recommended.

ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION:
IDHS students will be allowed the use of the Civil Air Patrol trailers on base for lodging. Details will be listed in your course acceptance letter. Lodging will not be provided for students residing within 50 miles of the training location. Participants who reside over 50 miles from the training location are eligible for overnight lodging for courses which are more than one day in length. Only those participants who reside 75 miles or more from the training location are entitled to lodging the night before a course. Students must bring their own bedding.
