Sec. 807.1 2008 Edition IFC 675 IAC 22-2.4  
In occupancies in Groups A, E, I and R-1 and dormitories in Group R-2, curtains, draperies, hangings and other decorative materials suspended from walls or ceilings shall meet the flame propagation performance criteria of NFPA 701 in accordance with Section 806.2 or be noncombustible. In Groups I-1 and I-2, combustible decorative materials shall meet the flame propagation criteria of NFPA 701 unless the decorative materials, including, but not limited to, photographs and paintings, are of such limited quantities that a hazard of fire development or spread is not present. In Group I-3, combustible decorative materials are prohibited. Fixed or movable walls and partitions, paneling, wall pads and crash pads, applied structurally or for decoration, acoustical correction, surface insulation or other purposes, shall be considered interior finish if they cover 10 percent or more of the wall or of the ceiling area, and shall not be considered decorative materials or furnishings. In Group B and M occupancies, fabric partitions suspended from the ceiling and not supported by the floor shall meet the flame propagation performance criteria in accordance with Section 807.2 and NFPA 701 or shall be noncombustible.  
Tapistries on wall are not labled as NFPA 701 compliant. Owner advises that they were field treated and the records are not on the premises.Provide all information as to field treating.

Sec. 507.2 2008 Edition IMC 675 IAC 18-1.5 
A Type I or Type II hood shall be installed at or above all commercial cooking appliances in accordance with Sections 507.2.1, 507.2.2 and Table 507.2. Where any cooking appliance under a single hood requires a Type I hood, a Type I hood shall be installed. Where a Type II hood is required, a Type I or Type II hood shall be installed. Exception: This section does not apply to dwelling units in multi-family dwellings. 
There are 2 residential type ranges in the Kitchen. Owner advises that they are not currently being used. Either remove them from the kitchen or install proper hoods per current Indiana Mechanical Code.

Sec. 907.2 2008 Edition IBC 675 IAC 13-2.5  
An approved manual, automatic or manual and automatic fire alarm system installed in accordance with the provisions of this code and NFPA 72 shall be provided in new buildings and structures in accordance with Sections 907.2.1 through 907.2.23 and provide occupant notification in accordance with Section 907.9, unless other requirements are provided by another section of this code. Where automatic sprinkler protection installed in accordance with Section 903.3.1.1 or 903.3.1.2 is provided and connected to the building fire alarm system, automatic heat detection required by this section shall not be required. The automatic fire detectors shall be smoke detectors. Where ambient conditions prohibit installation of automatic smoke detection, other automatic fire detection shall be allowed.  
No alarm system present in structure. Occupancy type and occupant load requires installation of an alarm system.

Existing wall between the dance hall and apartment is wood 2x4 framing w/ 5/8" Type GWB on each side (typical 1 hr). Table 508.3.3 requires 2 hr separation between Group A and Group R occupancies.

301.4 Listed and labeled. Appliances regulated by this code shall be listed and labeled for the application in which they are installed and used, unless otherwise approved in accordance with Section 105. Exception: Listing and labeling of appliances used for refrigeration shall be in accordance with Section 1101.2. 301.6 Label information. A permanent factory-applied name-plate(s) shall be affixed to appliances on which shall appear in legible lettering, the manufacturer¿s name or trademark, the model number, serial number and the seal or mark of the approved agency. A label shall also include the following: 1. Electrical equipment and appliances: Electrical rating in volts, amperes and motor phase; identification of individual electrical components in volts, amperes or watts, motor phase; Btu/h (W) output; and required clearances. 2. Absorption units: Hourly rating in Btu/h (W); minimum hourly rating for units having step or automatic modulating controls; type of fuel; type of refrigerant; cooling capacity in Btu/h (W); and required clearances. 3. Fuel-burning units: Hourly rating in Btu/h (W); type of fuel approved for use with the appliance; and required clearances. 4. Electric comfort heating appliances: Name and trade-mark of the manufacturer; the model number or equivalent; the electric rating in volts, ampacity and phase; Btu/h (W) output rating; individual marking for each electrical component in amperes or watts, volts and phase; required clearances from combustibles; and a seal indicating approval acceptance of the appliance by an approved agency  
There are wood burning stoves used as the primary heat source for the facility. Provide manufacturers installation specifications and listing stating they are compatable for use in this application.
